This is a question that I have been hearing alot lately.  My answer is: NOT ME! First, they have not been showing many games on TV, (mainly because of the NCAA tournment), so it's hard to get excited about something I can't even watch.  I know I could probably watch it on the computer, but that's not the point.  For me the point would be that, not everyone has a computer, or even cable, so it should be on a local network. I wonder if this tells to Mr. Selig anything, my guess is NO! I guess as long as a few thousand Americans show up for the games (and that's all that are showing up), Selig only cares about the bottom line...MONEY.

Also USA is the only team that uses high priced pro's for it entire team.  While its true other teams have MLB players on their team, it doesn't include the entire team. This event should be for non-pro's, but of course Selig couldn't cash in on that senario. If the U.S. loses players due to injury, that can affect the season for that team.  Don't get me wrong, I love baseball, just not the WBC.  There are players complaining about the lack of fans supporting the U.S. (Kevin Youkilis) and the format (Chipper Jones). Oh, by the way they are both out of the remainder of he games. IRONIC!

I wonder how the Yanks would feel about the WBC if Jeter got hurt and missed a month or two of the season.  They would definitely be outraged.  They slammed inter-league play last year when their young pitcher Joba Chamberlain got hurt running the bases and that was something that was required.

Spring training should be about getting the team ready for the season and that's hard to do when you are missing players. Especially when they aren't even playing everyday.  Some have 3-4 days off between games. STUPID!

Last, but not least, the above blog is strictly my opinion and does not reflect the opinion of the FN staff, although they will probably agree with me....LOL!

There's only one person I've seen who's interested in the WBC and he lives in Thailand. HAHA!

the USA team is all major leaguers, but they still don't win every game. they aren't out their dominated every category and getting every win. they are competing with the other teams, and have given good matchups to them.

and if you would like to see any action - if you have it - the games are on MLB Network

It's just the timing and the format and the arrogance (of some players), that just makes me not care about it. Not really knowing the non-MLB players its just too hard to get interested in it..

I don't know any of the non-major leaguers, but I do like watching it because it is baseball that has some competition and the atmosphere is of the regular season

Based on everyone I've talked to, all anyone really cares about is that the guys from their MLB team don't get hurt.
