Hey, so it's been a while since I've done this. The radio show was costing a lot to operate, but I do have a new set of downs relating to sports! Here we go:
1st Down: Just because you're in first place in the bracket contest on facebook doesn't make you sweet. In fact, you're just lazier participating in it.
2nd Down: Claude Lemieux is out of hockey again! Wait, he's on the DL? Darn! We'll have to keep Kris Draper on the bench again.
3rd Down: A-Rod officially stands for "A Ridiculous excuse for the use Of Drugs." As a Yankee fan, I've lost respect.
Finally, 4th Down: Just because you get paid millions of dollars doesn't mean you get off easy. Last week, Donte Stallworth commited manslaughter which driving, presumingly drunk. Athletes and drugs seem to have always been a pair with some fatal results. Jim Leyritz a while ago was caught doing the same thing and I've forgot the home run he hit during the 1996 World Series. Craig MacTavish, an Olier player/coach, was convicted of manslaughter, but now seems to have been forgiven by the media, as he has won Stanley Cups with the Oliers and Rangers (1940! no more) and as a coach with the Oliers took the Oliers to the Finals. But even with accomplishments after a fatal accident, your ego is damaged beyond repair. The only thing that seems to work is being forgiven by the fans. So word of advice: Don't take advantage of your rags to riches story.
