In 2008-09:

Guard: Eric Hayes. In Maryland's epic run to the NCAA Tournament, Hayes came up big. On the night before the start of the ACC Tournament for Maryland, in which they played NCST, Hayes' father died. After rebounding from this he scored 21. Then in the upset over Wake, he scored 11 off the bench. In the semi-final loss verse Duke, he scored 20. Against Cal, he scored 14 off the bench.

Guard: Talor Battle. In Penn St.'s regular season, which looked promising but ended up like every other one since joining the Big 10. But there was one player that stood out, Battle. 16.8 PPG, 5.3 boards, and 4.9 APG. A well rounded player.

Center: Jerome Jordan. Everyone knows the C-USA for Memphis, but one team that played their guts out all season were the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa. This center was exceptional, averaging 13.8 PPG, 8.6 RPG, and 2.5 BPG. Almost leading his team to the NCAA Tournament.

Forward: Kevin Coble. When you think of any sport besides women's lacrosse, the last school you will think of is Northwestern. And that is for a good reason. They suck. But they turned a 1-17 Big Ten performance around from last year into a 8-10 record. They had upsets over teams like Michigan St., Florida St., Cleveland St., Wisconsin, Purdue, and Ohio St. This is thanks in large part to Coble. 15.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 2.5 APG.

Forward: DeSean Sims. Michigan: the Big House, football, The Fab Five. One of those is basketball. That one was almost 20 years ago. Michigan fell off the face of the earth after the "timeout". But with people like Manny Harris, Jim Boeheim, and DeSean Sims, it isn't like that anymore, well at least for now. He helped the Wolverines return to glory with large part to his 15.4 PPG, 6.8 RPG, and 71% FT percentage.

Coach: I'd love to put coach Williams here (Gary that is), but that would only happen if the season started the 12th of March. But unfortuanitly it doesn't. Right here, I have to award this to Jim Boeheim of Michigan. He turned a 10-22 team into a 21-13, NCAA Tournament team. Incredible upsets over UCLA, Duke, and Purdue gave Michigan fans hope for the future, until football season starts and this will all just have been a dream.
