Throughout sports I think that fans of teams with a constant struggling backround. Every year is another chance to do something. I am a Rockies fan and I told myself after the Holliday trade that I would never be a fan of them again, but I was lying to myself. I knew that I was lying when I started checking stats on spring ball, and looking up prospects that might play this year. Don't get me wrong, I was pissed about the loss of Holliday. But just like I have since I started watching baseball, I drank the Rockies kool-aid and am waiting for opening day. Like the years of the past, I look at the maybe's like they are going to be perfect: Maybe Aaron Cook can be our ace/ maybe Jimenez, Moralez, and De la Rosa will make up a strong rotation/ Maybe Stewart, Atkins, smith, and Helton can make up for what we lost with Holliday (not likely)/ Maybe Iannetta can become a great catcher/ Maybe Tulo can step it up and lead this team.
I think that all of the Rockies fans can agree with me that we are still hanging on to our pennet a couple of years ago. The Rockies couldn't have timed it better. We had just started to give up on them when they stormed the league and gave us hope.
Now to close this up, you must know that I am a fan of the Rockies, but I am a very skeptical fan. But I think that if he can stay healthy, Troy Tulowitzki is the second coming of Derek Jeter. While they both defend the same, there offense is different because Tulo can hit for power. While Matt Holliday led the Rocks to the pennet in 07, Tulo was a leader too, the question is whether he can lead like Jeter does.
