Steel Curtain defense, baby! Steel Curtain defense. Oh, that's right, Super Bowl's over. Well, you can't blame me. What else is going on?
I know I've been gone for awhile (Miss me?). I know T.O. is gone from Dallas and has shuffled off to Buffalo where he will eventually wear out his welcome (think the Bills should start circling Trent Edwards like you see those Musk Ox doing to protect their young on those wildlife programs). And as I predicted, he eventually was quoted as saying something controversial; saying he was blindsided by his release. I say quoted because he will eventually deny he said anything like that and say he was misunderstood or just joking. Still waiting for the Cincinnati Bengal to be arrested.
Well, Roger Goodell wants to add another game or two to the season. Well, I could agree with that. I've always thought the exhibition... oops, I mean the pre-season was too long. Do you think coaches really need that much time to evaluate players to determine who will make the team? Just add the players who are on the bubble to the team for about the first four games of the season. That should be adequate. I know the issues are a little more complicated concerning that. One I can think of, for instance, is --if anyone has ever noticed-- that the teams that go 4-0 or 3-1 in the pre, end up being 3-13 in the regular. So, I know those type of teams probably want to keep the pre-season the way it is just to keep false hope alive for the regular.
I did want to discuss OT a little bit. Maybe in another post.
Okay, I'll say something about basketball. In college, in case no one has noticed, the Final Four teams are Michigan State, Villanova, North Carolina, and Connecticut with, as far as I know, Coach Calhoun has not given "a dime back." As for the rest, both college and pro, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
As for the start of baseball season, I'm a little more interested. Yeah, looks to me it's the start of another long season and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Wake me around playoff time.
