Wow... So many unexpected upsets -- Michigan St. vs Uconn & Nova vs UNC
UNC was probably the only one of the four who was expected to be here. Memphis should be there instead of Uconn, but the tense play of Mizzou really shut that up. Pitt struggled the entire time throughout the tourney, and should be no suprise that they finally lost to Nova. Michigan St. had a good year and applied the tough pressure defense against Louisville and Terrence Williams to hold them from scoring too much.
First round upsets this year were off the wall. Not often do you see a 12 seed (Arizona) and a 13 seed (Cleveland St.) playing each other in the second round. With three 12-5 upsets and a 13-4 upset, along with a few 10-7's and 11-6's, it was surely a big year for the underdogs. I was baffled by Wake Forest's loss to Cleveland St. I know about their history, but I didn't think that they could come out and upset one of the fastest and most physical teams in the nation. Personally, I thought Wake would upset Louisville, then Mich. St. My bracket sure took a hit when I saw the final score of that unbelievable upset.
