So I'm cooking out with some friends last night, and after watching hours upon hours of hyped-up nonsense on SportsCenter we finally get to the game. Wait, no we don't! MLB had a freaking Red-Carpet ceremony like it's the dang Grammy Awards or something. This is just another example of how out-of-touch and how away-from-the-game MLB and Bud Selig are. This is mostly guys watching, hello...you know the demographics. I don't think we need Kenny Mayne substituting for Joan Rivers asking players and celebs ridiculous question. It just seemed to be filler content, which annoyed everyone I knew. After eating some killer Chicken Francese and pasta I turn my attention back to the game to see Willie Mays being presented with a Cadillac!!! What is going on? Yeah the guy is a Hall of Famer and one of the best to play the game, but being presented with a Caddy? The game was boring. I wanted to see Bonds go deep, (thought he was when he went opposite way), and wanted to see more drama. If someone had the balls to throw at Bonds during the All-Star game I can tell you this, they would go down in history as a badass!!! Ichiro was the only exciting thing last night for me. I knew the AL would win again, and I'm glad it wasn't another "This time it counts" or this is for home field advantage for the World Series. La Russa did a horrific job as usual. Why he did not put Albert in I will never know. I just sum it up like this: La Russa you're not a cool guy, take your damn shades off!!! It's 10 o'clock at night for God's sake!
