Another shorty, this time on the O's fast start against the evil empire, the NY Yankees.
Score, 10-5 Orioles.
CC Sabathia got torched for 6 earned runs in 4.1 innings and did not record A SINGLE STRIKEOUT. He is a strikeout pitcher.
Mark Tex went 0-4 in an uproarous tumult of boos evertime he came to the plate.
The Yankees and their 210 million dollar a year team failed, miserably, against the O's, supposedly one of the worst two teams in the AL East, the other being the Blue Jays.
A new sense of optimism has overcome me. Yes, I was quite optimistic before tonight, as I thought we would have a 99 loss season, at worst.
Now, I feel like asking the Blue Jays to trade with us, Roy Halladay for a few prospects. (Kidding, late april fools joke)
Before tonight, these were my hopes for the Orioles this year:
Lose less than 100 games.
Keep Guthrie healthy, same with our bullpen.
Put wieters in at the right time and watch him hit .280+
Hope Adam Jones becomes superstar.
Sweep yanks to start season.
Keep Guthrie healthy, same with bullpen
Hope Felix Pie becomes a superstar. Adam Jones has proven himself, hitting 4-4 tonight.
Hope Yanks regress and O's come in third. (April Fools #2)
On CC's terribleness, didn't he play in the NL last year? (looks it up) Ah yes, that explains it, they play in the same division as the cubbies. Does the NL finally bow its head? We shall see how CC does in his future starts.
Koji, please last 6+ innings tomorrow night. They can't figure you out until at least after 81 games for us to have a shot at staying under 100 losses.
Or is the Orioles hitting just that good, to bat CC's pitches around like that? We shall see.
