For all those who look and say, they suck, we are much more than that.
We sing "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" when we should be singing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game". To tell you the truth, I don't know most of the words. I went to an Orioles at Twins spring training game, and I felt awkward because I had no idea what to do.
We HATE, I mean H-A-T-E the Yankees. Jeffrey Maier, Teixeria, when both teams were in a competitive rivalry. We hate them for those. Everybody in Baltimore has some bad memory of the Yankees.
We party. Do you honestly think we fans are like the fans of all other 29 teams? I mean, really, we are Maryland. A pretty unique state. Our primary spring sport is lacrosse. Take it or leave it. It was even when we were winning. And now that we aren't, the Orioles is a party for the younger folks, just another excuse to get out.
We have tee-shirt tuesday for a fan, Wild Bill Hagy. God rest his soul.
We have Griffey's mark, the orange chair, the Warehouse, Boog's BBQ, nuns who sell peanuts outside the gates, Ernie Tyler.
And we will get better. Matt Weiters, Chris Tillman, Brian Matusz, Jake Arrieta, Troy Patton, Adam Jones, Nick Markakis, Koji Uehara, Felix Pie. All young stars.
