The Arena Football League and the NFL would be a deadly combination. The AFL's location would be ideal plus it would produce a profit unlike NFL Europa. Arena football is getting increasingly more popular and with the NFL as a partner the AFL could probably develop more teams and thus acquire a larger fan base. The AFL is already an unofficial partner with the NFL in a way. When a player gets cut sometimes he goes to the AFL until he can improve. The NFL watches the AFL that's for sure, but if they worked together they could produce more talent. If you were a rising star in the AF2 you could look forward to a career in the AFL. Now if you could enhance that with the possibility of an NFL career then that would be perfect. It makes perfect sense for the NFL to partner with them because its not just the same game of football with different people its faster and unique. Other leagues don't last because of their lack of entertainment value. The NFL will always be on top (or so it seems) and to challenge it with another league identical to it would be futile. Now the NFL wouldn't want to partner itself with a league like that anyway. If things fall through some how then it would be an odd situation. Two leagues incredibly similar and now you have to choose a favorite. The AFL on the other hand isn't like regular football so you don't necessarily have to choose. If you need regular football just watch the NFL, and if AFL is what you crave then you know the drill.

I agree that the NFL needs a developmental league like how the MLB has A/AA/AAA and the NBA has the NBDL. A lot of players would benefit by being able to go down to a developmental to get them back up to speed instead of going straight to a game after an injury or bad streak, but it may just be because the NFL doesn't have that many games compared to the NBA and MLB.

The only players that can be developed from Arena to the NFL are WR's, QB's, and DB's. Arena ball is 90 % passing while the NFL likes to mix it up, therefore, Arena Football doesn't bode itself well for developing NFL players in all positions.
