FAU'S FRANTZ JOSEPH AND NFL SIGNINGS PLUS TRYOUTS CONTINUE
According to sources, FAU's own Frantz Joseph has signed a 2 year, $780,000 contract with the Oakland Raiders. Un-drafted during ESPN's NFL Draft weekend, Joseph continued as a free agent for less than a day. The Sun-Sentinel reported he'd been picked up by Monday morning. Oakland and Al Davis are the perfect fit for Joseph. Having some history behind him, Oakland's friendly confines of second chances work well. You know Oakland got a steal, as Joseph is the second leading tackler in the nation. And the Sun-Belt conference is no soup can of a conference. Going un-drafted were compadre Jervonte Jackson by the end of Sunday.
Jackson goes to summer rookie camp with the Philadelphia Eagles as Joseph goes to Raiders summer camp. Jackson was a four year starter for Howard Schnellenberger and played in every game but one. Others who go to rookie camp are Cornerback Corey Small, Defensive end Michael Hancock, and defensive lineman Robert St. Clair.
Small was a three year starter and holds the all-time record for interceptions at FAU, and will attend rookie camp for the Washington Redskins. Hancock will stay local, and has a short drive to Davie for Dolphins camp. St. Clair will tryout for the New York Giants.
