Went four for four in the East so far..., didn't get the game totals right but hey, all my teams went through. Here's what I think will happen now that it's down to the Frozen Four in the East.
1) Boston Bruins vs 6) Carolina Hurricanes
I like Boston in this series, although Cam Ward's playing terrific hockey and the Canes are getting scoring from unexpected players (ie. Jokinen's last minute goal and the winner last night). Boston's defense is better than Carolina's though..., Chara, Wideman and Co. will have their hands full with Carolina's offense but Thomas will shut the door. Ward will steal a couple though..., he did that in the Jersey series and if he continues his pace, he oughta make the big saves when needed. Boston's scorers have to pile on the shots, Lucic needs to hit everything that moves and the Bruins will move on to the East finals.

2) Washington Capitals vs 4) Pittsburgh Penguins
This has all the combustible elements of an A-Bomb..., Ovechkin vs Malkin, Crosby vs Semin, Green vs Gonchar..., this has the look of the best series in the entire playoffs. Hart trophy candidates Ovechkin and Malkin go head to head for the first time in the playoffs and I can't wait for it! #8 was invisible last night and if the Pens can keep him off the scoresheets, they'll be able to get some rubber past Theodore-Varlamov or whoever Boudreau starts. Keep the shots firing, Fleury making the saves and the Pens oughta fight their way to a return to the East finals. Brashear will return at some point in this series, probably around game #5 or #6 from his suspension but it won't matter much..., if the Pens get the lead early, they can rely on Fleury to make the saves and the big two of Crosby and Malkin can do what they do best..., score.
