Fortunately for the NHL they now get the matchup they have been dreaming since the two players have entered the league, Penguins vs. Capital in the playoffs.  This series has the potential to be the what Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were to the Masters Event, a pairing of the NHL's two most exciting and greatest players.  The way the series could play out may provide just enough entertainment that even though the winner may not win the Stanley Cup, everybody will still be talking about this series and the excitement it brought. All of those writers pitting Crosby vs. Ovechkin (and now Ovechkin vs. Malkin and also Crosby and Malkin vs. Ovechkin and Semin) can now write those same articles again, but this time will have meaning and head to head stats to actually gauge.

Granted this will not be an end-all settlement here, but each player/team has the chance to prove which team has the better player playing on their team.  Can "Free Candy" Orpik  and Hal Gill stop the onslaught of shots Ovechkin brings to every game? Can Mike Green and Tom Poti move the puck up enough to prevent Malkin and Crosby from establishing their presence in the offensive zone? Will Fleury and Varlamov be able to continue their strong first round performances? So many questions, too much time has passed. Let's get this series started.

Penguins in 6. Also, Malkin and Crosby stay atop the playoff scoring race while heading to the Eastern Conference finals. Theodore gets at least one start during the series. The Pens third line of Staal, Cooke, and Kennedy will have two gamewinners. Laich vs. Kennedy will drop the gloves.

Well, there is still a slight chance Pens in 6. Wow, no one besides Crosby showed up at all for the Penguins.
