New York Giants:

Picks:
29 - Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina
45 - Clint Sintim, OLB, Virginia
60 - William Beatty, OT, Uconn
85 - Ramses Barden, WR, Cal Poly
100 - Travis Beckum, TE, Wisconsin
129 - Andre Brown, RB, NC State
151 - Rhett Bomar, QB, Sam Houston State
200 - DeAndre Wright, CB, New Mexico
238 - Stoney Woodson, CB, South Carolina

Best pick: Hakeem Nicks

Nicks has superstar potential.  With his size and skills, he could be the next Anquan Boldin.  Anyone who saw his bowl game against West Virginia knows what he's capable of.  With Plaxico's status in doubt, they needed a WR, and they got a good one in Nicks

Worst pick: Rhett Bomar

I don't like this pick.  They already have a starter in Manning and I like David Carr as a backup.  He was great in limited action last year and should be very good in the role.  Bomar has a strong arm, but he lacks touch and I question his ability to read defenses.  His numbers at Sam Houston State aren't mind blowing considering the low level of competition.  I don't think he'll be more than a third stringer in the NFL, and you don't want a guy with his character issues on your team if He's not a great player.

Day 2 keeper: Ramses Barden

I like Ramses a lot.  He's the biggest WR drafted and He's got great potential to be the big red zone threat that the Giants will need if they don't have Plaxico.   He has superstar potential, but He's unpolished and needs some work.

Starters:  I think Nicks will start immediately and be very good.  They have some players like Sintim, Beckum, and Brown, who I expect to make an impact, but not to start.

Grade: A

The Giants' first 6 picks are phenomenal.  I've already gushed over Nicks and Barden.  Sintim is a guy that will be used situationally as a pass rusher.  On other teams, he might start, but the Giants have an insanely deep front 7.  William Beatty was great value where they got him.  I thought he'd go in the early second round, and they got him in the late second round.  I like the Travis Beckum pick.  He's a very good receiving TE and will be very useful to Eli Manning as a safety valve.  He's got outstanding hands and is skilled as a receiver.  Their final great pick was Andre Brown.  He'll be a good replacement for Derrick Ward.  He's a very good inside runner and He's got good hands.  Just a great draft for the Giants all around.

Player they shouldn't have passed on: Mike Mickens

While their first 6 picks were great, I didn't like their next 2.  Instead of taking Mickens, a guy I think can be a starter in this league, they took Rhett Bomar and DeAndre Wright.  Mickens would have been the better choice.  He's a 6 foot tall cover corner with very good ball skills.

Ramses Barden is a great pick. He should be a mainstay in the league.

If Bomar had a good attitude he had first round talent. He's a QB who has alot of leadership on the field, has good throwing mechanics, and can sramble in the pocket. It's hard to take a specific guy from the giants draft and say that this is a guy that shouldn't be here, but I certainly think that if Bomar gets a better attitude then he could be a good player in this league.

I'll let you do all the "pounding", as you have about as much intelligence as a bag of rocks.

But thanks for the offer.

Let me make a counter offer for you though...see this is what lawyers do.

How about you run along and play in traffic and see if you can catch a bumper in your teeth.

Bomar is certainly the worst pick and this blogger explained exactly the reasons why the Giants missed the boat with that one.

You have fantastic insight into football as well. I can see how you think you're superior to me considering all the gems of wisdom you've dropped on this thread alone.
