Here we go again.  The Lakers.

As I was watching the game last night, I was reminded that they are a team that I cannot stand to watch on TV.  Not just TV, I don't want them to win.  Here is why:

1.  Lamar Odom.  When the commentators realize that he's not a star.  Putting up triple-double games followed by a disapearing act doesn't constitute a star.  9pts/5reb/3ast in Game 1, 7/11/4 in Game 2.  That's mediocre at best.  Lamar flexes his muscles and basks in the glory when Kobe ALLOWS him to have a big night, then hides in the corner and reminds people that he has no intention of ever being the go-to star when his numbers flop.  It's a roller coaster that viewers don't need to be reminded of day in day out.

2.  "He can't guard me."  This phrase came out of Kobe's mouth several posessions in a row after he scored on Shane Battier.  What I'd like to see is Kobe yell, "He CAN guard me," on the posessions that he doesn't score.  And in this series, Kobe is 30 for 58 with 4 turnovers.  On Laker posessions where Kobe is the last one to touch the ball, it's successfull 48% percent of the time.  That means that Battier, Artest, whoever is guarding him are successful 52% (that's the majority) of the time.  So why does he only choose the good times to pump his chest and act like he deserved his 2nd MVP this year?

3.  Pau Gasol.  A player who simply could not make it on his own.  The Grizz were TURRRRBLE.  But Pau comes to LA all of a sudden thinks he's the reason why the Lakers are standing on the top spot in the West.  26 years old, and I've never seen a big guy a) as soft as Gasol, and b) complain as much as he does.  It's unreal.  When he was learning how to shoot, his teacher must have told him that yelling is part of the fundamental shot.  He goes up for an uncontested layup and the viewer would swear that his legs was buckeling the whole way up.

These are just some thoughts.  If anyone agrees, jot it down.  If anyone disagrees, please feel free to explain your views.  The Lakers are a bunch of whiners, led by a great player.  It's just unfortunate that the great player thinks he needs to show up everyone around him any chance he gets.
