Kobe pulled his MJ impersonation last night and scored 18 of his game high 40 points in the 4th quarter including 6 FT's in the final 30 seconds in "Money Time."
And Trevor Ariza had a key steal to set up 2 of Kobe's FT's.
Kobe had a great game offensively but defensively he did a great job on Chauncey Billups. Sure "Big Shot" had 18 points but Kobe made him earn them. He made just 5 of 13 field goals.
Even the officials couldnt screw us out of the game at home. The Nuggets at one point had 33 FT's and Lakers had just 14.
Historically teams that have won Game 1 win the series 79% of the time.
And a Phil Jackson coached team that has won Game 1 is 42-0.
This should be a great series but Pau Gasol has got to get more touches. He had 14 rebounds but just had 9 FG attempts. He has the size to expose Martin in the post and needs to use it to his advantage like he did against the Rockets.
Can you smell what the Lakers are cooking???

Yes it is lovely in Lakerland. I eventually passed out somewhere in the middle of the third quarter but I did see the highlights this morning on Sportscenter.
I agree with Pau needing more touches. He has to get into this to at least keep his confidence up.
