In response to:
Yankees give A-Rod ultimatum
The Yankees have a message for Alex Rodriguez: sign an extension before opting out of your contract, or don't sign with us at all. A source told the Daily News that the Bombers have made it clear to A-Rod and his agent, Scott Boras, that they have no intention in taking part in a free-agent bidding war for the two-time American League MVP, and that if he chooses to opt out of his current contract and open the bidding to the rest of baseball, his days in pinstripes will be over.
Note to A-Rod:
Twenty five million in annual salary isn't enough for you to scrape by on? Not to mention whatever you bring in with your endorsement deals. You are already the highest paid player in baseball, if not all of the four major sports. And lets not talk about that joke new to the L.A. soccer scene, Spice Beckham, or whatever his name is. The point here is, you should keep your head down and your mouth shut. People will have so much more respect for you than you realize. You will have a clear path to break the home run record that's about to be broken by you know who. And, people will celebrate you, rather than vilify you as they will with Barry Bonds.
A final thought for this topic. While I have no problem with anyone seeking out what the market will bear, please keep in mind that there countless people in this country who cannot afford a tank of gas for their vehicles, all thanks to ultra greedy oil companies. Looks pretty bad when you and/or your agent have to squabble over money when you're already in the twenty five million per year category. In the end, all of your millions are paid by all consumers, whether fans of the game or not. Think about it.
