A Day...#5 | Musings of a Cynical Madman

11:57 AM ET 06.03 | "For the millionth time, I don't have time to give guitar lessons!" Yep, I say that way too often. Any spare time I get to play, I am composing or practicing scales or tabs. Our band is to check out this movie theater in a couple of days where we might be doing a concert. It's certainly large enough, but I don't have a clue about the house sound system. The sound man, or in our case, sound girl, makes or breaks everything. It doesn't matter how well you sing or play; if the sound isn't right, we've wasted our time and the crowd has wasted their money...and no one likes wasting money (except the gov't). If the sound system sucks, we bring our own, but having a good system in place is good (cuts down on set-up and tear-down for our roadies). We are also trying to get in at a popular waterpark near San Antonio, Tx (can't mention the name) for a one night show, but still woking out schedules. Also an international event this summer, here in central Tx, where the temps get boiling, and the sweat runs freely. Sounds like a good time. Well, gotta go. Until next time...
