Like I mentioned in my previous post, I had the opportunity to go to a Yankee game yesterday. They were playing against the Texas Rangers. It was really great game to watch from strong start, later game come back and intense finish.
Chien-Ming Wang started the game with some great pitching. The first two innings were looking very strong for the Yankees. A home run and a few bases got things off to an exciting great start. Third and Fourth innings it started sliding. Rangers were getting bases and began pull ahead of the Yankees.
It was looking, bad 5-1 Rangers, in the bottom of the 5th inning. But that's when things started to change for the Yankees favor. Soon bases were loaded, some walks and a double play put Yankees back in the game tied 6-6.
Kinsler from the Rangers answered back with a home run to left field, was afraid that was going to signal another push by the Rangers, but luckily Yankees held them off until 8th inning where they put up two more on the scoreboard making it an intense 8-6.
There was a lot of tension in the air at the top of the 9th. With a few Rangers taking bases, it wasn't looking good. Luckily Mariano Rivera pitched extremely well and struck out 2 and a pop fly catch finished the game preventing the two on base from coming home.
This was the first time I had ever seen Mariano Rivera pitch in person and I have to say it was impressive. From where I was sitting his pitches looked fantastic, clean, fast, and straight. Very interesting and captivating to watch. Great game, played well by both sides from start to finish, couldn't have asked for anything more.
