At first I personally thought it was kind of cool what Kyle did after winning the Nashville Nationwide race and receiving the Sam Bass painted Guitar Trophy for winning and if it was a spur of the moment thing I think I might still believe that to a point.
He had supposedly said to his crew a year ago when they lost at Nashville that he would smash the guitar if he ever won there and give each of the crew members a piece of it , so Kyle as well as his team has had a year to think about this.
Kyle Busch quote was "Ozzy has done this right? Peter Townsend? Kiss?"
His Crew Chief was quoted as saying "Nugent "
A few small differences;
One of those people are Rock Stars and are using mass produced guitars and smashing them actually may make those brands of guitars worth more because there is now less of them. They are not smashing one of kind instruments that will never be sean again.
Two this was a one of a kind Sam Bass designed Gibson Les Paul Guitar.
This guitar is ... was a one of kind piece of art. True it is not a Picasso or Van Go that is hundreds of year old that is worth millions but say in 20 , 50 or hundreds of years this could have been worth a lot of money and something to be looked at.
Now it is destroyed never to be sean as it was intended to be sean as again.
If as they have said it was thought of a year ago he could have gone out and bought a mass produced Guitar and in Victory Lane substituted the real one with the store bought one and smashed that one.
What was Mr Bass gonna say after watching hours and possibly hundreds of hours of work going into making that one of a kind Guitar smashed in seconds. Rather than call Kyle a immature little brat he took the high road and said he understood after hearing Kyle's explanation.
I think looking back on it that Kyle Busch may have robbed us all of ever seeing a piece of art work as it was meant to be seen.
