The Washington Redskins have released WR James Thrash after failing to pass a team physical.

Thrash has been suffering from a bulged disk in his neck.  Several rumors persist that Thrash may end up retiring.  The neck was not bothering him much of the off-season, but during the OTAs, it began flaring, hastening discussion that Thrash's career may end.  It has in DC.

"It has been a great honor to get to know James and his family," Redskins Owner Daniel M. Snyder said.  "James is a tremendous person who has been a great ambassador for the Redskins in our community.  He has produced nine outstanding seasons for our team.  It is our hope that he will continue a long-term relationship with our organization."
