The Pittsburgh Penguins held in Game 7 to beat the Detroit Red Wings by a score of 2-1. This finished off the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals for the team, securing their first championship since the early 90s.

Evgeni Malkin took home the MVP and Sidney Crosby actually missed half the game with an injury caused on a hit from Johan Franzen.

The heroes of game 7 were goaltender Marc Andre Fleury and the unheralded Maxime Talbot, who scored both of Pittsburgh's goals.
