Greetings America.
I was recently brainstorming for TD ideas when a TD format popped into my head. And in my opinion, it is pretty good.
The throwdown does NOT immediately take place on the Throwdown page. Instead it takes place here, on the group's message board. The two throwdowners argue it out on the messageboar, only the two of them, and when they are done, each TDer copies and pastes a portion of the argument onto the main TD page until the whole conversation is there.
A few advantages to this:
1. No more forfeited turns.
2. People can hear the whole debate at once in a manner more natural.
3. A unique way to TD.
I have christened this a PTD because I created it, but if anyone else has any better names, obvious flaws in this system, questions, etc. leave a comment!
