An offensive player is entitled to the vertical space he is in, just like a defensive player taking a charge. Nelson came charging in, and planted both feet, straddling Kobe's leg. It doesn't take a PhD to figure out that there's going to be contact as soon as the offensive player moves. Nelson initiated the elbow by invading Kobe's space. If Nelson doesn't want to get elbowed, he shouldn't put himself in a position where what he's doing would be considered dry humping in any other context.

Go cry about the non-call on Gasol's goaltending. Then you can conveniently ignore Howard's goaltending in the same game where he actually did effect a shot by blocking it THROUGH the rim.

the refs were trying to help the magic so badly in game 5. the nba needed teh series to be extended for more revenues however the magic are just the inferior team.

you see all those loose ball fouls that were called in the 2nd quarter all of sudden against the laker bigs.

they needed to keep the game close and extend the series but they couldn't.

I vented I'm over it. The Magic choked... Sadly but I still hate the refs they blow, they need some young guys that have 20/20 vision and are athletic enough to be in the right spots to make the calls. I love seeing a ref at half court blow the whistle on a post foul when there is a ref standing right there. Countdown to football!

If it was rigged why didn't we all get the Lebron/Kobe Final? There is nothing in this post but angry jiberish. Where are you stats as back up? How about looking at the real issue the NBA has: Old referees. They are expecting 60 year old men to keep up with some of the best and fasted atheltes on the planet. And to only have 3 of them to keep an eye on 10 guys. Thats the real problem

The league needs refs that are not buddy-buddy with certain players and or coaches. And also refs that are not intimidated by them. But most of all they need refs that have the guts to make a call against a star player late in a game, because a foul is a foul no matter who commits it or at what time in the game it is commited. That rookie could be working just as hard or harder than that star player, but because the ref doesn't recognize the name on the back of the jersey that kid cannot get a call. Therefore the star goes off for 40 pionts. Then the media says "that's why he is a star". "The rookie needs to pay his dues" that's the biggest bunch of b.u.l.l.**** I've have ever heard. People talk about Kobe? Look back at some old Bulls games. If you even looked at him he would be on the line. Look at DWade a few years ago in the finals. He spent 4 games on the line. I still think that was Stern's way of sticking it to Cuban. They win the first 2 games then Stern says "I can't have an embarrasment of an owner win in my league". That means 4 straight losses-NO CHAMPIONSHIP FOR YOU!

Sorry, I meant to say If you even looked at MJ he would be on the line.

I agree that the NBA is rigged but it's just rigged for more revenue. They want long series for more money. As to why we didn't get a LeBron-Kobe Finals, the refs can only do so much to rig it and if a team is completely beating another team, they can't actually change that. But, the refs can decide the outcome for two teams that are remotely close on the scoreboard, usually.
Go back and look at the Celtics' year. Every time a crappy team, like the Kings or something, would come to town the Celtics would "all of the sudden" have a ton of trouble with the team and the game would be close. The Celtics would win but it would be close. Everytime that happens you know somebody makes a ton of money in Vegas.

wait the magic did not dominate the cav's look at th point spread dumbass it was basically even and yes the refs could have affected that

The question of the NBA being rigged is like the question of Sammy Sosa doing steroids. Why does everyone act surprised when the truth is discovered? Just watch a game...it is ovbvious!

I've always believed the NBA is the worst called sport in the world.

Any sport where there are different rules for mortals and superstars is not worth my time. The only time I watch the NBA is between the end of NFL and the beginning of MLB.....then I forget about it because it makes me so angry.

I watched the finals this year and was pulling for Orlando. There were some bad calls on both sides. I think Orlando lost because of needing more experience. They are great young team that will do well going forward. Needed a vet like Carter. I think the NBA has some issues with officials but I don't know that the front office is involved. The last series I saw with the Spurs and Suns a couple of years ago was very suspect. The most blatant offense I can think of though in the last few years was the Mavs VS Miami in the finals. Miami couldn't beat them before those 4 straight games and hasn't beaten them since. Dallas was running them out of the building until the end of game 3. Then the refs took over. That was a shame.
