I am a fairly new as a UFC fan, or mma as a sport. Recently to light up my interest, I downloaded the demo for Ps3 Undisputed. Played for 10 minutes and was hooked. At first I was tentative to watch because of the sheer violent nature, but the skill involved is so entertaining to watch. MMA has many different disciplines and strategies to succeed, it makes the sport like no other. Watching highlights on spike is a great way to get to know what kind of fighters are in each weight class. My favorite weight class is Light Heavyweight. Chuck Liddell, Rampage Jackson, Rashad Evan, Lyota Machida, Forrest Griffin and so on and so forth. So many fighters with great skill, this sport is awesome. Boxing, does not compare, because the competition is not as competitive.
I got the game shortly after it came out and WOW. This game is on fire, realistic knockouts, submissions that are jaw dropping. The gameplay takes some time to get used too, but it is worth getting to know to prove your prowess online. The point of this blog is to get some opinions on the game and the sport in general. Really loving this sport and want to see what everyone else thinks.
Im curious what people who train and fight mma think of the game. When I play I get psyched to do an armbar on a great player like Rampage. In the game there are counter kills, one punch or kick knockouts. There are of course those people who spend countless hours on the game to master all the technique, more power to ya. Online play shows you how difficult the sport is. Right now I would say the ground game, submissions and whatnot are where the game is difficult. You can be a great standup fighter and lose on the ground. If you can master the ground game, you are the equivalent to eddie in Tekken. The guy who usually wins. This game is brutal and can do a number on your thumbs trying to do submissions and armbars. Definatel a must have if you have that competitve fighting spirit in you, and you want to unleash on someone.
