After a final round score of 69 on Monday at the U.S. Open, Tiger Woods finished tied for 6th place at Even par. He made a run towards the end after posting back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th hole. But after bogeying the 15th, his chance at a late comeback seem to slip away.             Tiger shot a 74 on the first round of the U.S. Open. Then followed it with a 69 and a 68. It seems as Tiger always has to come from behind to win tournaments. Out of all the tournaments he has entered in his professional career, Tiger has only been a first-round leader 12 times. Which got me thinking. Has Tiger ever had four great rounds of golf at a major? After doing some  investigating, I found that Tigers best four rounds at a major were at the 2000 British Open with a 67 - 66 - 67 - 69, for a total of 269. His overall lowest round was a 61, four different times (2002 PGA Grand Slam, 2005 Buick Open, 1999 GTE Byron Nelson Classic, and 2000 WGC-NEC Invitational ). So I did even more thinking. When is Tiger going to post four astonishing rounds? Granite, the 2000 British Open was miraculous. I think he could do better. How about a first round of 60, second round of 63, a third 62, and final round of 61. I realize those are superhero-like scores, but isn't Tiger a superhero? Arguably the greatest golfer to ever play - Jack Nicklaus - won 15% of the tournaments he entered in his career. Tiger has won 30% of the tournaments he has entered, doubling Jack. Woods golf swing has been clocked at 125 mph. While the rest of the PGA players average a speed of 84 mph. Tiger has won the U.S. Open by 15 strokes, and the Masters by 12 stokes. And he has been the number one ranked golfer 525 out of the last 600 weeks. Now that sounds like a superhero to me. All he needs now is Mickelson's biceps!
