Image:MLSAllStar07.gifIn most American professional sports, the All-Star game is intra-league.  The NFL has AFC v. NFC.  The MLB has AL v. NL.  The NBA has East v. West.  The MLS has a little more creative style.  They play one European power.  This year's team that the best MLS players are facing is Celtic FC, my favorite team.  It is questionable if Celtic will send over its first team, but either way, it will be a great team.  If they do send over their best players, the MLS will be in for a challenge.  Celtic is lead by midfielder and free kick specialist Shunsuke Nakamura from Japan.  Other notable players are Dutch striker Jan Vennegor of Hesselink, Polish goalie Arthur Boruc, Polish striker Maciej Zurawski, and Czech midfielder Jiri Jarosik.  The Bhoys have more talent than the MLS, and that will cause problems.

As you can see, 2006 All-Star game hero Brian Ching is not a starter.  Landon Donocan and Cobi Jones of the Galaxy are also on the bench.  Juan Pablo Angel of Red Bull New York and Eddie Johnson are the most prominent players on the MLS starting lineup, with Christian Gomez contributing at midfielder.  Ronnie O'Brien is the lone player from expansion Toronto FC.

Freddy Adu is currently at the Under-20 World CupEvander Sno is a rising star.  He is very young, and he can contribute now that Petrov is gone.  The defense is very deep for Celtic.  Bobo Balde, Steven Pressley John Kennedy, and Mark Wilson are the best players on the defensive side.  An interesting story for the Bhoys is Freddy Adu.  Last year when Celtic played Freddy Adu's former team, DC United, Adu expressed interest in joining Celtic.  Now, Celtic is taking a better look at Adu.  They are courting Adu right now along with English power Chelsea.  Adu is a rising star in the MLS, and is one of the more recognizable names.  The 18-year-old phenom now plays for Real Salt Lake.

MY PREDICTION-Celtic: 2, MLS: 1

The Bhoys are one of the most underrated teams in all of soccer.  They continue to get great talent, but they are underrated due to their location.  In the round of sixteen in the Champions League, they narrowly lost to AC Milan, who would go on to win the championship.  Celtic FC will shock the world this year, and make it to the semis atleast.
