According to Ken Rosenhaul of Fox sportsm the Angels tried to engage in trade talks with the D-Backs for Dan Haren.
If the Angels could pull this off I think it makes them a World series favorite. The Angels would likely have to give up a few of their top prospects, but I feel it would be worth it. Haren gives the Angels 3 possibly 4 (if Santana can return to 08 form) Aces plus Joe Saunders who is a solid #2 on most teams.
I'm not quite sure what it would take, but I'm sure Brandon Wood would probably be involved. I imagine guys like Sean Rodriguez and one of the Angels pitching prospects might be thrown in (Nick Green?).
Just the fact the Angels are trying to make these kinds of deals is a positive sign. It shows that the Angels front office aren't being content with what they have like they have been in the past.
If they can't pry Haren away from the D'Backs, expect them to keep trying to improve this team.

The D-Backs are saying they won't move Haren, I read yesterday. Of course, that could just be posturing on their part.
I agree with you....if the Angles land Haren, they'd be right in the mix of AL favorites.
