Their is no doubt in my mind that we as yankee fans are the best and worst fans in the world. I live every year for baseball and you know what's sad instead of being more interested in the games i find myself so indulged in who we trade for or what free agent will we sign instead of being excited the day austin jackson becomes the next bernie williams and ramiro pena the next jeter or mark melancon the next MO. Even thou it's highly unlikely they will amount to those guys thats what i should be watching our youth excel and mature like in "95".
I personally hate living in the past so we will start with this year. Why in god's name isn't Alfredo Aceves starting. This kid is pitching lights out right now. Most of you will say we already have starters who are doing good. Flashing headlines, only two have a below 4 era. I don't call that pretty good except the fact pettite has done good but we all know and it breaks our heart but his arm will eventually wear out like last year. Burnett has only pitched well of late. Phil Hughes is drawing the same questions as Joba did now that he is in the bullpen and throwing harder just like joba was. But in order for us to win now these kids have to be forced in to this role and it kills their maturity process and developing their arm strength. What happens when Joba's innings run out. Does anybody have a clue what he'll be doing the rest of the year. I certainly believe that i heard ESPN right, when at the beginning of the year they said we had the best bullpen and that has changed now Boston has the top pen. Who is Brian Bruney what has he ever done worthy enough to deserve to be the set up man for MO! Wait a minute put phil hughes as setup man but that would make to much since and we can't afford to do that now can we.
Why in god's sweet earth is the yankee lineup not like this jeter then damon or cano interchangable at 2 and 3, then alex then tex protecting him from being walked not cano. Cano is great but not at 5th, he chases pitches way to bad. But like always we are winning right now so no one pays attention to these problems. I'm sorry if the truth hurts but i would rather see Joba as the next MO. Hey MO was a starter now look at him! All i'm asking is to see some sort of progression towards another dynasty yankees not win one year at a time! But just like always i'll be looking forward to see who we get as bullpen help at the trade deadline instead of giving Kroenke a chance. He looks pretty good out of scranton but what i'm i thinking thats to long term we must win now!
Hey Molina's getting healthy let's kill the youth movement and send cervelli back down cause thats what there going to do. The guy has played his heart out and thats how you reward him. Molina is done but his veteran presence will help us win now. Of course i forgot his .200 average and descent arm will help us win now what could i possibly be thinking. Thats just my opinion but i could wake up one day if we ever beat boston and have a new out look on life. Take it easy yankees fans this year is going to be hard on our hearts with all these late game wins but we will survive cause we are the greatest fans on earth and if we didn't complain even when things are good we wouldn't be fans!

I disagree with pretty much every point you bring up.
For one, Alfredo Aceves is too value a bull pen arm to put him in the starting rotation. Aceves is the Yankees modern day Ramiro Mendoza; you could bring him in any situation from out of the 'pen. He can serve as a spot sporter or could come in in the 8th inning. He's a versatitle pitcher and needs to stay in the bull pen. Besides, our rotation is looking pretty damn good. Sabathia has looked great, Burnett COULD be every bit as good as Sabathia (if not better), Wang is showing improvement with every start, Pettitte is pitching the way people expected him to pitch, and the Yankees are 10-5 when Joba Chamberlain starts. Why fix something that's not broken?
Brian Bruney is a question mark, sure. But he has incredible, filthy stuff that could easily make him the top set-up man in the American League. He just needs to stay healthy and everything will work itself out. He has too good of stuff to not be successful. When the Yankees acquired him in 2006 the guy was out of shape. Bruney's gotten himself into much better shape. It's all about him stayinf healthy.
With the Yankees line up, I don't think Jeter should be lead-off. He doesn't see enough pitches; he always seems to be swinging at the first or second pitch. I like Damon as the lead off hitter because he takes a tons of pitches, constantly fouling off tough pitches. Plus he still has nice speed. Cano should not be the Yankees #3 or #5 hitter. The #3 spot in the order is reserved for the best over-all hitter on the team, someone who gets on base and the #1 and #2 hitters over. Cano cannot bat 5th because he doesn't get enough RBI's...right now, the #5 spot in the order should be Jorge Posada followed by CANO.
Your comparrison between Mariano Rivera and Joba Chamberlain is a flawed one. For one thing, Rivera was a much, much worse starting pitcher than Chamberlain is. Chamberlain also has 4 pitches to work; River went onto throw the cutter and that's the only pitch he ends up throwing. If Chamberlain goes back to the bull pen, he's only going to throw two pitches that being the fastball and the slider.
Don't be too upset over Cervelli being eventually sent down. He'll be back in September for sure and will most likely be the back up catcher for 2010. Molina isn't here for his offense, it's for his defense which is a bitter better than Cervelli.
I'm not really understanding your post...the Yankees are much more built for October than any other year in recent memory. The Yankees will likely make some sort of trade...maybe for a corner outfielder and a bull pen arm (similar to last years Nady/Marte deal).

Thats fair i see what your saying, it's more me being upset with brian cashman more than anything. you still need a more intimidating batter in the 5 hole than posada. if it's not tex nobody else could really fill that hole. wait i know who and it would be the best move the yankees could make Adam Dunn. could you imagine him in the five hole at yankee stadium.

Umm...
How can you be upset with Brian Cashman? Did you see what he did this offseason? Hmm let's count:
1. Signed the best starting pitcher in the market, CC Sabathia
2. Signed a strikeout machine in A.J. Burnett
3. Signed a gold glove and excellent offensive player in Mark Teixeria (which also keeps him away from Boston)
4. Traded Wilson Betemit and two minor leaguers for Nick Swisher
5. Acquired Eric Hinskie to deepen the bench...
What more did you want Cashman to do? Posada is a capable #5 hitter...and Adam Dunn strikes out way too much for my liking, despite how many homeruns he hits. Plus, he's a low average hitter.

Alfredo Aceves can go in the starting rotation yes, but he is a good go-to long-man in the situation of an injury to a starter early, or a Chien-Ming Wang-type outing.
Because Hughes is doing the same thing as Joba, isn't that a good thing to see if they do happen to move Joba back to the bullpen? If Hughes can come right out of the starting rotation and be fire in the bullpen, it's not impossible for Joba to do the same.
In your lineup, wheres Teixeira? Jeter is a good lead-off man, Damon is a hard hitter and gets on base a lot. Cano swings at the first pitch and usually grounds out into a douple play so it's not the best to have him at 2nd or 3rd in the lineup when you've got your leadoff man on first. Tex provides support for Damon, Arod provides protection for Tex, and Cano is just out of place I think.
I do agree that Cervelli should stay, but he is very young and if he were to stay in the minors he could learn a lot more and be sent up to play in the MLB later in September and maybe next year.

How can you say nick swisher is good. yes he did good at the beginning filling in for arod and he walks alot. have you seen his .210 average with runners in scoring position not good besides his regular stats. he has the lowest OBP in the starting lineup.

Shadow... i want to have in my world Gardner lead and it go like this. gardner, jeter, damon, arod, tex, posada, cano, swisher or hinske, melky. matsui is done to me we could get some good bullpen help for him if he'll agree to be traded and drop his clause.

What don't you understand about the Swisher trade? The Yankees traded Wilson Betemit (whose now in Triple-A) and two minor league pitchers for Nick Swisher and that minor league pitcher Texeria.
Swisher is not an everyday player, that I agree; nor did Cashman intend for him to be an everyday player. Funny thing, the Yankees had a rightfielder by the name Xavier Nady and he got injured so Swisher had to fill in for him.
Swisher can play 1B, LF, RF and in emergencies CF. He walks a ton and can hit a lot of homeruns. Cashman will likely get an everyday rightfielder but we can live with Swisher in the line up.
You talk about the Yankee dynasty, a dynasty that had Chad Curtis and Ricky Ledee as their LF'. So what if Swisher doesn't hit for average? Neither did those guys...and Swisher walks/hits homeruns more than they did.

WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THEY PAY THE SAME AMOUNT TO HIM AS THEY COULD HAVE PAID TO ADAM DUNN! HE WOULD BE A DRASTIC IMPROVEMENT OVER SWISHER!

personally i think cano would be a great 3 hole hitter. cano is batting .376 when he hits the first pitch of an at bat in play. and any pitcher in the majors is going to try to get ahead on him by throwing the first pitch a strike so they don't fall behind and get hurt by him being on base with runners when arod comes up. arod should not be picking up tex. tex should be picking up arod if he doesn't get the job done thats why we pay him so much is to get the job done not to sit back and let tex hit the homerun and him come to bat with the bases empty. think how many more bases loaded oppurtunities arod would get with jeter damon and cano batting in front of him and damon could go back to leadoff just to keep the lefty righty combo going.

You're crazy about Adam Dunn, aren't you. We have too many DH's as it is - Dunn is a terrible fielder, worse than Swisher in Right Field. Big no thank you.

Why would you trade Matsui for Griffey?
Matsui is batting .255...Griffey is batting .214
Matsui has 11 homers...Griffey has 10
Matsui has 31 RBI's...Griffey has 26
Matsui OBP is .352...Griffey's OBP is .325
Matsui is slugging .486...Griffey is slugging .408

You can have your own opinion, it's flawed, but you can have it.
If you're going to write a piece about what the New York Yankees should be doing (a team I follow every single day) then I'm going to have my opinion as well.
Adam Dunn attracts you because he hits homeruns. But he also is ANOTHER DH on this team, he strikes out a ton, and would have a very low batting average. The same goes for Ken Griffey Jr. except he doesn't even hit many homeruns and is older than Dunn.
The Yankees need maybe on bull pen arm and a corner outfielder...but they could live with Swisher.

Fair enough but if they did get an outfielder which one would you want of the ones available and same for bullpen!

There probably aren't many corner outfielders available...
Huston Street would probably be the Yankees #1 target for their bull pen but that's a major long shot considering the Rockies recent hot street.
Chad Qualls has been rumored...not crazy about him.
