The Marlins put a horrible month of May, in which they went 9-20,
behind them and rallied back to place themselves in position to take
the division lead just one week before the All-Star break.
Florida
finished the month of June 17-11 and are 1.5 games behind divison
leader Philadelphia. The surge can be attributed to major contributions
from four players.
P Ricky Nolasco - Ricky was supposed to be our ace
this year after a strong performance last year, but he struggled at the

all year. Ricky made his return on...

May was bad, but the Marlins are one game above .500 and look to be getting things together. It's going to be tough to grab the division lead and tougher to keep it. Philly is no joke. If the Marlins can play team ball through July theres no reason to not come out on top of the division......A bad month from Philly, the Mets and the Braves would be nice.

Don't be too swayed by a good June, it seems the Marlins have always had the ability to play above their talent during this month, as their overall Interleague records indicate, but then they seem to run out of steam come August. July will be a tough month due to a lot of games on the road & the West coast. At least the NL East is a frail division and you must like the Marlins ability to keep finding pitching talent, stay healthy for the most part, and never get too down in a game or losing streak. As long as they can stay ahead of the stinking Mets, split with the Phillies, they may be able to stay as contenders most of the season.
