The starting Quarterback should be Demetrius Jones first half of the season.
Ht: 6-3 Wt: 190 40: 4.7 Stars: ***
Position: QB
Birthplace: Chicago, IL
Biography:
Demetrius "Double-D" Jones is one of the top prospects in the Land of Lincoln. Jones is a dual-threat quarterback and he has already been compared to former Chicago (Mt. Carmel) quarterback Donovan McNabb. Jones threw for 2,300 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior. He also rushed for 1,100 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Jones reports a 3.3 GPA/22 ACT.
Jones - "I think what I bring to the table is leadership. I do a good job of getting my teammates confidence up. I can run or throw. I make good decisions and I'm always looking to get better.
"I've got great leadership skills???I mean I'm the commander-in-chief of the offense. In clutch situations, I can throw it deep or short and I use my feet well to create plays. I can roll well to the left or the right. I need to work on gaining a better release, and reading defenses quicker. I also need to work on my footwork."
Second half of the season would be Jimmy Clausen

- Speed
One of the more polished quarterbacks to come out from the West in some time, Clausen has consistency and accuracy that is second to none. Is a pure winner, having never lost a start as a prep quarterback. His speed would be the only question, though he has good mobility.
Biography:
One of the top quarterback prospects to come out of Southern California in the past decade. In two years as a starter, has a 28-0 record, and finished his junior year being named the state underclass player of the year. Threw for 2,778 yards on 156-of-231 passing and 30 touchdowns, leading Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian to a third straight CIF Division X title. The younger brother of former Tennessee starting quarterbacks Casey and Rick Clausen, the youngest of the three will likely be the top-ranked quarterback nationally in the class of 2007.
This will be an interesting season and Notre Dame should be ready by Sept.1 2007. Goo Notre Dame!!!
