With the injury to Chien Ming Wang, I have been hitting myself over the head.  This guy was improving slow as a tortoise and as steady as a tortoise and I was hoping that he would soon be back to himself on the mound.

But since that is not going to happen anytime soon, I started looking at guys who might start in Wang's place until his return.  It won't Hughes or Aceves unfortunately, because both guys aren't stretched out enough and they are too valuable in the bullpen (has anyone watched these guys pitch lately?!).

So I started looking at AAA and AA reports, in anticipation of a possible callup to address the issue, and I was shocked at what I saw.

The Yankees have a pitcher named Josh Towers in AAA Scranton Wilkes Barre.  If there are any Yankee fans or Blue Jays fans reading this, than that name should be familar to you guys.

You may recall a game in 2007 when a smokin hot hitter named A-Rod was on base when a catcher named Posada hit a pop up to short, and the shortstop for the Blue Jays dropped the ball after Alex shouted "HA" behind his back.

Several games later.  Towers plunked A-Rod twice, including once in knees in retaliation.  He then proceeded to shout at Rodriguez in a dispute that would clear the benches.

Once okay, Twice no way.  Towers threw at a guy to hurt him and did twice with the intention of causing trouble.  As if that wasn't enough, after tha game he made comments about the Yankees first base coach Tony Pena.

"What's this guy running his mouth off for?' "He's a quitter," Towers said of Tony Pena, who was a Manager in Kansas City before joining the Yankees. "He's managing a team and quit in the middle of the season because he couldn't hack it and he's going to run his mouth to ME?"

Does that disgust anyone? It does me.  But not as much as the fact that this punk is now in the Yankees organization.

What the heck was Cashman thinking? Does he honestly believe that there is chance in heck that Towers will ever see so much as a hot dog in the Major Leagues as a Yankee? Tony Pena is now the Bench Coach, and Girardi is not stupid enough to call up a guy like that to pitch for the Yankees and risk alienating his second in command.

What also disgusts me is that this has gone unnotcied by Yankee fans.  I was expected to hear "A..h..e chants when Towers pitched in Yankee stadium later that year, but nope.

The Yankees are the most prestigious team in baseball, they set the standards.  And there is no chance in heck that this guy shoud ever get the chance to pitch for the New York Yankees.

Your right. Towers shouldn't be pitching for the yankees. As for the fans i can't blame them for not booing him, cause he's Josh Towers. His name will not be remembered but his actions will. I knew Towers but I'll admit i don't him being the guy who made that that quote or threw at Alex even though i remembered both those things took place.

Unfortunately I think that you are right. I guess there is some kind of divine justice that this guy is now pitching in the minors. I will go nuts if this guy ever reaches the majors as a Yankee.

Amen.... agree 100%.... but as I write this, to your surprise and agreement, Aceves will be pitching tomorrow in place of Chien Ming Wang...... you remember he came up late last year as a starter and was excellent..... didnt get a job as a starter this year because we had aj, cc, andy, joba and chien (the man he is replacing.....) could be a blessing in disguise and Wang might take his place in the pen along with Phil Hughes...... we have that luxury....
