What a joke this season has been so far..... A team that was expected to contend for the NL title is battling the minor league Padres for last place in the NL West.(seriously the padres had 1 major league player in their lineup last night and should have won) To their defense if Webb had been healthy you could give them 10 more wins and they would be in a position for the wild card, but the word IF gives people the best arguments. Conor Jackson had been sick since April and have no idea what is up with him. Our team improved with the injury to Eric Byrnes, but enough about injuries...time to talk about the play on the field.
ROtation: Dan HAren has been the Cy Young of the NL and should be 13-1, but he is 8-5 with a 2.16 era and a .189 opp ba and will probably not even finish in top 3 of voting because people will only look at his record which is a shame. Doug Davis and Jon Garland have been very servicable this year and will be a nice addition to any team in the hunt that needs a veteran reliable pitcher. Max Sherzer has shown he has number 2 stuff and maybe an ace someday and should have a nice career. Grade B+
Bullpen: What a disgrace... Probably cost them 15 games this year, but has shown signs of improvement. Nice young arms in Zavada, Guiteriz, Pena, and vasquez with vet arms Rauch and Qualls. Should be a top 10 Pen, but they for some reason keep struggling and hopefully they can keep improving because they have the potential. Grade C
Infield: The sheriff should be in the allstar game hitting 280 24 hr and 60 plus rbis and maybe his comments the other night will change this season around!?!?! Drew is starting to get back on track after being injured for a month and O DOg is having another stellar..... my bad felipe lopez is a decent replacement..... anyways time to get rid of augie ojeda and bring back up brian roberts. augie has maxed out his potential. Tony Clark needs to retire and chad tracy needs to be traded for a new bag of baseballs (big homer last night though) Miggy is ok behind the plate till Snyder comes back. Grade B-
Outfield: Chris YOung is probably bigest disapointment in the league for a guy with 30 30 potential. Hitting below 200 for a guy getting paid 6 mil a year is ridicioulous. Jup is becoming a star, but needs to clean up his defense and Parra has been a pleasant surprise and should have a decent future Grade C+

You're right about Haren.......his record should be much better if he'd had a little more support. He's a stud and it makes me cry to think the Cards gave him up so that they could pay Mark Mulder to not pitch for 3 years.
With Drew starting to hit, I think the D-backs could turn it around a little bit in the second half.
