Alright already. It's over. This version of the Pirates is going to be no better than the previous 16. We have some good ball players on the team but they don't know how to win. There was supposed to be a core of veterans on this team that was going to get us to the next level. They have failed. With a couple youngsters on the roster now, don't let them get tainted with the legacy of losing that seems to have infiltrated all the "old guys".

Hope is not a legitimate strategy. It is what people who have failed at everything else turn to when they have nothing left. My hope is gone. Going from 3 games below .500 and having, what I thought, a legitimate shot to get on the positive side, this team has decided it likes the basement. I guess it is better to be where you are comfortable than put yourself into a brand new position that creates a sense of anxiety.

Barring some miracle, count this season over.
