Okay I am a die-hard Phillies fan, dying hard more often than drinking from the chalice of victory, but I am getting a little peeved at my team's apathy.  I say "apathy" because the team that won the World **** Series some 250+ days ago has shown no signs of looking to repeat.  "YES", I AM cognizant that repeating in baseball is the hardest feat of the four major sports viewed in America, but come on!!!  This team is essentially the SAME, save the fact that Pat Burrell was let go but we obtained Raul Ibanez who is more than filling the void in left.

Bret Myers went down with a season-ending injury (something I'nm not happy about but nonetheless have no control over), but J.A. Happ has been filling in admirably.  Lidge is no longer "lights out" (not that I expected him to be perfect this year too, but he must have some injury that he won't admit to because his performance has absolutely fallen off the planet), but J.C. Romero's back and can help in the closer's role.

Who really draws my ire is J-Roll.  Last year he was injured for a stretch and didn't play up to his MVP caliber style of play.................flash in the pan?  I think not, but I am starting to wonder about where his heart is, the ability is there but something is not clicking.  Things better change soon or the team with the most ravenous, unrelenting fans will see their park attendance drop.

Well, there is my rant.  Many (Cubs fans mostly:) say I should be HAPPY with the World Series victory last year, but my inclination is to get on a team that should be running away with the NL East (especially given the Mets injuries) rather then coddle them and tell them "it's allright, you won last year, just go out and 'try'".............that is something I CANNOT and WILL NOT do.
