Barry Zito was been, for a lack of a better word, horrible since joining the Giants in 2007. He hasn't been the pitcher he was for the A's. That's until he has to face the Florida Marlins. He is 4-0 in 5 starts with 2 shutouts in his career.

The Florida Marlins have served as a confidence booster for Barry Zito since he joined the San Francisco Giants. Zito foams at the mouth like a rabid animal when the rotation lands him on the Marlin's schedule. Lets look at his stats entering his games against Florida.

  • July 7, 2009: 4-8 with a 4.82 ERA Result Win 3-0
  • June 5, 2009: 1-6 with a 4.08 ERA Result Win 2-1
  • May 23, 2008: 0-8 with a 5.65 ERA Result Win 8-2
  • August 17, 2007: 8-11 with a 5.13 ERA Win 3-0
  • July 27, 2007: 7-10 with a 5.00 ERA ND 12-10

Zito out pitched All-Star Josh Johnson who gave up all 3 runs. Johnson remains winless against the Giants for his career (0-3).
