UFC 100 is almost here as we have just under 36 hours until the PPV event begins and while UFC 100 predictions can be found in several places across the Internet, I decided I am going to chime in with my own. Please note these are in addition to the predictions over at ProFighting-fans.com that were posted here on the blog last week. These are completely independent although some may be similar.

Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Alan Belcher
I'll be honest, I do not know a lot about Akiyama other than the fact that he has not lost since 2005 with 11 straight wins and 2 no contests in that span. Belcher is 5-3 in the UFC, but he has won 4 of his last 5 fights. I am going to go with the UFC newcomer Akiyama getting the 1st Round victory.

Jon Fitch vs Paulo Thiago
Is Paulo Thiago for real? No known as a devestating striker, he scored a controversial KO of Josh Koscheck in his first true UFC test. Jon Fitch will prove to be another tough test as he is 9-1 in the UFC with the lone loss coming to Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre August 2007 at UFC 87. Fitch shows Thiago who is boss with a 2nd round victory via TKO (Strikes).

Dan Henderson vs Michael Bisping
Let's make it clear not that I am not a fan of the cocky Bisping. That having been said, he has quite an impressive resume in MMA. Henderson's wrestling background and experience are his strengths, but I hate to admit that my money would be on Bisping via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Georges St. Pierre vs Thiago Alves
I have yet to read a preview where anyone has GSP losing this fight. This preview will be no different as I see St. Pierre winning with the ground and pound getting a TKO in the 4th Round.

Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir
I have seen predictions go both ways with Lesnar tapping out and also winning by ground and pound. Personally, I think the UFC would agree that having Lesnar as the Champion is best for business, and while I would never accuse anyone of anything underhanded, I doubt we will see any strange breakups like the one that took place in the 1st Round at UFC 81 when these guys first faced off. Lesnar wins via TKO as Mir will be lucky to last more than two full rounds.

As always, once the fights are complete, look to ProFighting-fans.com for the official UFC 100 results as well as the recap and analysis of each fight later this weekend.
