The truth of the matter is that this Pirate team is not a team. It is obvious that I am having to live through another "rebuilding process". This would be the 12th in the last 17 years. Despite having good ballplayers on this unit, they don't seem to be able to play as one cohesive unit. What I am trying to say while trying to remain polite is, THIS TEAM SUCKS!!
I don't care if they are making league minimum, it is too much money for the garbage on the field. Freddie Sanchez needs to go elsewhere so he can better utilize his talents. He is wasting a career in the dump when he could be used to get to the playoffs or all the way to the big series. The pitching is inconsistant at best. Even our good arms can't seem to get any run support when they need it.
I can sit here and blame the players. Thats the easy route. Unfortunately, the players didn't pick themselves. They were selected by management and then given to a team manager to pick the best of the litter. Unfortunately our litter over the last 17 years has been nothing but runts.
Get this season over. In fact, why not just call it in and quit embarrassing the city of Pittsburgh.
