With the departure of Heyward-Bey, 4 starters on the Offensive Line, Moises Fokou, Jeremy Navarre, Dave Phillistin, Obi Egekeze, and other starters, Maryland is really going into a rebuilding year after last years disappointing 8-5 record and bowl win.
Key returners: Jr. RB Da'Rel Scott (1000+ yard rusher, great speed, missed a few games with minor injuries), Sr. QB Chris Turner (119 rating, 2516 passing yards, 13 TDs), Soph. WR/KR Torrey Smith (1000+ return yards, 24 rec.), and Jr. LB Alex Wujciak (133 tlks, 8.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks).
@ California. Won last year, but biggest concern for the Terps is the 10 PM start time ET. This was a concern for the Golden Bears last year, being at 9 AM ET. The GB will win.
James Madison. Should be easy, last year Maryland won their FCS game against Delaware 14-7.
Middle Tennessee State. This game last year was a ground breaking win for MTST, winning 24-14. You can never predict an upset, so this should be a Maryland win.
Rutgers. Last meeting was a MD upset over RU. This year should be no different. Rutgers has changed a lot since then. No Underwood, Rice, or Teel.
Clemson. Last year was a big MD upset. Maryland should win against a team losing Davis, and Harper.
@ Wake Forest. MD won 26-0 last year, but I see WF getting revenge at home. Riley Skinner is a great QB.
Virginia (HC). UVA destroyed the Terps this year 31-0. Although The Cavaliers are supposed to post better than their 5-7 record last season, I don't think Friedgon will let the Terps lose to their rival 3 straight years.
@ Duke. The losers are on the right track, and if Maryland is the same inconsistant team as they were in years past, Duke reigns victorious, but overall MD is a much better team. I think Maryland will win a close one.
@ North Carolina State. Maryland won last year in the rain, 27-24 on an Obi egekeze GW FG. This year the Wolfpack, led by QB Russell Wilson, will win.
Virginia Tech. The game that broke our season last year. VT won 24-10 last year and I expect a similar score this year.
@ Florida State. I'm calling for the upset. Last years 34-3 FSU win leaves me with hunger. MD will march in and beat FSU.
Boston College. Very good team in BC, won this meeting 21-14 last year. But I think Maryland will win.
So overall: 8-4 Regular Season.
Maryland has lost many key players but looking at it in depth, Maryland should have a winning season if they can stay consistant.
