I give Big Props to Dr.Buss for ordering his mgt. team to pull the Offer Sheet he presented to the most over-rated/under-achieving player in the NBA...Mr. Lamar 'sugar cane' Odom (the offer sheet was on the table for a week and rumor has it Lakers were offering 8 mill a year for 3...Odom wanted 10 mill a year for 5).
The Lakers might take a small 'on the court' hit without Odom next year but it ain't nothing Kobe, Artest and the rest of the promising upstart Laker bench can't overcome. They won't be the clear favorite to repeat as champions but they'll still be n the top 5
Odom has the nerve to continue to hold the Lakers at bay while he and his agent labor over to take the L.A. deal or consider the deals the Mavericks and Heat are supposedly offering him. Well just in case L.O. is reading this blog let me tell him the best and smartest move at this moment and for the remainder of his NBA career; Stay with the Lakers because this is the only team u can win a championsip with--Who actually has any desire to employ you!
The Lakers are smart in deciding to move on away from Lamar and address other team needs (hint-hint laker fans, u need to find a veteran point guard who hasn't reached the age of 30 yet)...Dr. Buss giving Odom the 'gas face' like he did another over-rated/under-achieving player years back (SHAQ) was the best non-move of the offseason. Lakers offering Lamar Odom 8 million a year is 7.5 more than he deserved as far as I'm concerned but regardless Odom should of jumped at the contract just like he jumps for 'Penny Candy'!
