While the Broncos are rebuilding, the one thing that I see happening on the plus side is Knowshon Moreno running up stats and getting the ROY for his efforts.
I know that with the recieving core the Broncos have, they don't have to run as much as it would seem and since McDaniels likes to pass, it would make sense that Moreno would get the carries that Frank Gore would or Stephen Jackson. But other things go into it.
Orton: He is a game manager, which means he isn't the featured player so he will pass it on short routes and focus on clock management. So running the ball will help him eat time. Also, Orton has shown that he loves to throw it in the flats so Moreno will get a ton of action there because he is great at catching the ball out of the backfield.
Marshall/Graham: One of the most physical recievers in the league doesn't just use his size when he is catching and running, he is turning into one of the best blocking recievers in the league. He blows up smaller CB's and is holding his own against safties. Daniel Graham is one of the best blocking TE's the league. This meshes with Moreno's obsession with cutting to the outside and running the sideline.
Moreno himself: considered my many to be the next Barry Sanders, he can cut and deke like Sanders but catches the ball well. I would say he is the next Marshall Faulk with both abilities. All of this equals the Broncos having a solid running back for the next 10 years.
