Did anyone else notice Reed driving a Toyota in Nationwide? Who would have thought such a thing would ever happen, even last year. Dodge's top team (RPM is fielding 4 cars in my book that makes them Dodge's top team) to have one of the drivers jump into another manufactors car, blastfemy I say! (even if I can't spell it)
Kahne is going to driver that 38 Great Clips (Toyota) next year for 8 races (sort of a 'this is where it all started' kind of tribute I guess), so what gives?
The King has said they are talking to all manufactors, I hope somehow they could switch to Ford.

I have a problem with anything associated with Petty being anything but a Dodge,
The day that team becomes anything else means everything is for sale and screw loyalties and I don't care if it is even another Detroit 3.

Dodge was not in cup for many years, Richard ran Pontiac's, he won the 1979 & 1981 Daytona 500's in a Pontiac.
From Wikipedia
Unhappy with the seven top-5 finishes (including two second places) Petty climbed out of the Dodge and into a four year old used Chevy Monte Carlo after 17 races, breaking the hearts of his faithful, though partisan Mopar fans. The switch to Chevy didn't produce any wins however, in the remaining 1978 races. Petty would go on to rebound in 1979, winning the NASCAR championship for the seventh, and last time.
Wow in the middle of the year, seems there were some heated arguements recently that basically said such a thing never happened.

Actually upon further reading, 1981 he won in a Buick. Tested the Dodge Miranda and the car could not top 186 and decided to go with the Buick and it was his last win at Daytona.

Well I do not care what else he drove I can only remember him in a Dodge even thou I am a GM person.
Petty and Dodge should always be connected.
Shots should be drank at this point.

I agree Dodge is what we expect to see that team in, but can they support Nascar teams any longer? Hate to see them leave Nascar, but if they need to save the brand and a boatload of jobs.
Then again, the PT Cruiser is made in Mexico and the Dodge Caravan in Canada??
Yes by all means
Shots, chased with some good brew!

Fiat which is the new parent of Dodge should be able to spend the money.
They are one behind Ferrari in F1 and threatening to pull out of F1 because they want unlimited spending. I was surprised what is all Fiat and did not know they also owned Ferrari
Some deep pockets there all Petty has to do is hold his horses abit.
Could you imagine Petty team driving Ferraris?

Just so you know Hammered I am Canadian and believe me we are taking a beating up here with people buying imports. Korea , Japan . China , Germany ... I think I have them all.
When we assemble a car here in Canada it is with both Canadian and USA parts.
I know what I assemble has engines in it from Ohio I believe is where the engine plant is.
We have lost about a half of a million auto jobs in southern Ontario and you can not tell me buying cars is a global thing. If it was why did we lose so many jobs?
It comes down to brass tacks. GM, Ford and what is left of Dodge is North American.
When the Twin Towers went down all 3 of them were there with donations of cars and money. I know firemen from Canada went down there as well as their US counter parts.
Ask Toyota , Honda , KIA , etc how much they ponied up. And as foreign companies I did not expect them to anyways but it does show you where their loyalties stand and I am pretty sure we did not pony any money up for when Japan had a earth quake.
Sometimes you Americans like to think we Canadians are different from you. We are taking a beating in Afghanistan just like you are.
Where are the Japanese , Chinese ,Koreans?? Making cars and shipping them in with subsidies to beat out what workers we have left
