Hey, what's going on everyone? I'm back here on FanNation, please contain your excitement.
Bret Bielema, if you're reading this please, please start Curt Phillips at quarterback this fall. Everyone knows what Dustin Sherer is capable of, and to be honest it's not that good at all. During the spring game Curt Phillips led the offense on a scoring drive 4 of the 6 possessions he quarterbacked, 66% scoring rate is awfully impressive.
Curt's throwing abilities will improve drastically, this is a guy who threw minimally in high school..he's going to get better. Plus, he adds athleticism to the offense..last year there were times where Allen Evridge or Dustin Sherer just stood in the pocket when they should have thrown or taken off, Curt Phillips has the ability to use his feet and take off.
Wisconsin's offense is perfect for a redshirt freshman quarterback, he'll have his safety valve, John Clay to hand the football to, he's got plent of weapons offensively. Last year's quarterbacks had average arms, but added nothing else to the table offensively, and while I'll admit Curt's arm isn't necessarily the strongest, he at the very least adds the ability to run and extend plays.
Starting Curt Phillips is a move for the future. Eveything I've read about him from his teammates, and from the coaches, everyone loves the kid. He's got a bright future, let him shine. So, Bret please start Curt Phillips this fall.
