And speaking about fast, how bout the consistency of great cards and title fights? The UFC is running a mammoth event about every two months. We are talking a title fight and at least 2-4 matchups on the undercard that are must see and sometimes even the best action of the night. I mean Championship boxing these days gives you ONE maybe TWO great fights a year. And the once respected Heavyweight division has become a bigger farce than WWF.

Now I know why Ali was the greatest, because back then boxing actually meant something. But these days every fan of that fading sport is clinging to the past and praying the future comes full circle again. It's not gonna happen. The UFC fighters, at least the bottom rung get 5-10k per fight with the belt holders usually peaking at a 1/4 mil.The UFC is honest and thats probably why even the biggest books take very low limits on this upcoming sport. Boxing has outpriced itself, it has hit its peak. Most of the top fighters are pure thugs or illiterate morons.. but these days to get to the UFC you have to be smart, because most the the athletes competing aren't coming straight from the street. UFC fighters are college graduates, they are blue collar workers and some are die hard dedicators where training becomes a full time job. Unlike boxing, the older you are doesn't automatically make you the underdog, because in this sport strong hands and a quick jab do not encompass everything. In MMA, technique or even a big heart can be the difference.

Any given fight on any given night can produce amazing results, because the options for ending such a match are countless.No standing 8 counts here, we are talking about the ultimate challenge , the ultimate head to head encounter. Tap outs, submissions, flying knees, ground and pound, refferee stoppage, electrifying, satisfying, never say die in'. That's the UFC Creed, mold and motto.

Boxing was once a great and mighty sport but its days as the top physical confrontation activity where anyone who is decent can get payed are over. MMA is the way of the future, it is the reality tv for fisticuffs representing a new age. And quite honestly for any pugilistic fan, it's exactly what we all dreamed of as kids..its the showdown, the mowdown and the get down we always wished could happen, and now it's happening every 45 days.
