Why am I not surprised that this franchise has signed Michael Vick? From their cheering of injured players(Sometimes Seriously aka Michael Irvin of Dallas), to their complete lack of respect for the memory and conscience of this nation in regards to the signing of this conman sociopath.
Michael Vick has pulled it off. He is back in the NFL and signed with a team thanks to a short sighted commissioner, public, and apathy from the true fans of this great league. How can anyone stand by and let this thug back in the NFL much less on a team.
I guess it is what is to be expected. I truly though Michael Vick would end up in Oakland to be honest with you. Al Davis' senility is perfect for this common criminal in pads.
I just pray that as a society we are not totally losing our conscience and common sense regarding hiring these thugs in potential role model positions. What have we taught our kids with the re-signing of this animal? NOTHING!! We have taught them that they can get away with felonies and still get back into the limelight.
The commissioner is going to be rememberd as Roger the soft-hearted fool. Dragging this one great league into the gutter with the re-signing of these despicable characters. Why don't we start a prison draft? There are some tremendous athletes behind bars and we can reunite Vick with some of his former cellmates.
I am ashamed to call myself a fan of this league these days. We have gone from a league built on honor, sportsmanship, and competition to one of braggarts, criminals, and "bling". It is a shame!
Well, at least my opinion of the Eagles has not changed! They are still classless fans and owners who have no ideals or idea of the fundamentals of professional sports. Clueless and careless!!!
Sportsmanship is alien to these people and it is a true travesty to see this player back on the field as anything except a janitor. Other convicted felons typically end up in this job, if they are lucky enough to get that.
So Michael Vick has physical talent... So what! He is a criminal and his crimes should mean he is treated like other felons in society. Why don't we give all felons a second chance and let them get lucrative jobs when they get out of prison? We don't because as a society we typically are leery of criminals. Why should Vick get special treatment just because he can run fast?
Doble standards aside, we have officially disgraced all the players who have played and acted honorably on and off the field by bringing this miscreant back. Shame on all of us for not stopping it and I want to personally apologize to Lombardi, Landry, and all the other greats who made this league a great one, only to have their legacy STOLEN from them by our truly apathetic society and a truly jelly kneed, weak, gutless commissioner!!

I understand where you are coming from, but don't we give most if not all felons a second chance? Outside of serial killers and murders that is.

You are the type of person who I think should just move out of the country. Vick killed dogs, not people. People are crucifying a man for killing animals. I see in your picture you like to fish. I guess that it is no inhumane to go fishing, I mean you throw a hook in the water and trick the fish into biting it and getting it lodged in its mouth. I bet that is not torture right? I mean I guess fish must not have feeling in there mouths? And when you fish do you throw the fish back or do you keep it and kill it. Such a hypocrite! He spent 2 years+ in prison, went bankrupt, give the guy a damn break you inbreed.

Nick and Bignobe, you are missing the point entirely. If you do not get it by now, you will never get it, so I am not going to try and teach you morals or values, since you obviously do not care about them in any fashion. If I was a betting man, I would put money on the fact you are both under 30, so that should explain a whole lot.
Bignobe, I hope you learned from your mistakes and straighten out your life and live honorably. DUI is a misdemeanor and I am not condoning what Bush did to this country or the economy, but torturing and killing dogs is like beating helpless children. Cowardly and cruel. Vick should not have been allowed back into the NFL. This league was built on character and honor. Vick has shown he has neither and should not be putting on pads for any team.
Most convicted Felons will tell you, it is damn hard to re-establish your credibility and trust with society once they get out of prison. You should know that.
Nick, fishing is a LEGAL sport and we are talking about fish, which have no emotions, do not feel pain, and do not have a complex nervous system. I catch and release fish 95% of the time and do so humanely. Your argument is tripe and your statements only show how much a fool you are so I will not attempt to degrade you any more than you have already done yourself. Get an education and get real!

Tiger, I think Vick should have the same chances other convicted felons have, but we should not put him in a potential role model position. He has not earned it, does not deserve it, and his presence in the league just takes a dump on the legacy of those who played fair on and off the field in the past, as well as the potential players who are living right and trying to get into the league. This is a very poor example to show our kids and the other rookies! Where do we draw the line on letting felons back in the NFL? Well, he did not rape or murder, so let him back in? It was only Armed Robbery, give him another chance to play? Well, he just killed a guy while driving under the influence? What the hell, let him play. If we keep stretching the boundary of acceptable behavior, then we will just encourage others to keep pushing the limits. We have to draw the line somewhere and I am in favor of it being your first felony is a lifetime suspension from NFL play. A misdemeanor is a mistake, a felony is a serious crime. This was a VIOLENT Crime perpetrated against animals! This is not acceptable behavior in society as a whole and I would have thought the NFL would have drawn the line in the sand at VIOLENT CRIMINALS being allowed to play. The commissioner has let us know that it is okay to commit a VIOLENT Felony and you will still be allowed to play. That is BS!!!
