New York Knicks

This time, we will be talking about the Sacramento Kings, the leading candidate for the worst team in the league next year. They have a really good player in SG Kevin Martin, but they have no talent surrounding him. Martin averaged 25 PPG last season, so it's sad to see him doing it all by himself.

They have a nice, young squad full of role players, but no defense, combined with no leadership is not a good combination. They just drafted G Tyreke Evans, but you can guarentee they will regret passing up on Ricky Rubio, who was exactly what that team needed, a playmaker and a face of the franchise.

They have a good big man combination in Hawes and Thompson, but they have no other big men. Releasing PF Kenny Thomas would help considering he does nothing but get his $8 million every year (this being his last), and replacing him by signing free agent C Johan Petro, who would provide minutes at center behind Spencer Hawes.

Another young role player to add to the mix might be SG/SF Rodney Carney, who has shown that he can contribute.

But the key thing here is they have to be patient. The reason the proposed trade is fair is because their 1st Rounder will mean a lot because of their record. This lineup will be enough to compete with teams, but not win every game. If you look at their previous roster, I doubt they would have been able to pull of a 10 win season. This way, they have a young roster that can grow together. Here it is:

C - Spencer Hawes, Johan Petro

PF - Jason Thompson, Sean May, Jon Brockman

SF - Andres Nocioni, Rodney Carney, Donte Greene

SG - Kevin Martin, Francisco Garcia

PG - Tyreke Evans, Beno Udrih, Sergio Rodriguez

Mark them down as the team with the best chance to get PG John Wall, who dunked over Jerry Stackhouse.

Here is a mix of him...enjoy.

Although I heard some good things about Evans' play in Vegas, I am not sure that he's really a point guard in the NBA. Passing on Rubio may really come back to haunt them.

On paper there are some decent names but it's going to be awhile before Sacramento comes all the way back.

Agreed. He's definately not a PG, and in a few years, he will end up as a SG. Think Steve Francis.....

Good comparison. The Kings need him to succeed in a PG role but I just can't see it. At least at 6 foot 6 he would have no problem at two guard.

I like Jason Thompson. I won't call him a star in the NBA but he should be a serviceable big man for years to come. Got to see him play at Rider and although it was lower level competition in the MAAC you can tell that he has the talent.

But, if we give Rodriguez minutes to play, we could see a very good point guard. He isn??t a great shooter, but his passing habbility is very good.
The maximun problem I can see is in the zone. there are only two good players.
Think we need more muscle.
Nocioni could play PF at Europe, but don??t think so in NBA. Greene is tall, but with this body he could be a great SF.
We need one more tall man.
