Hide Your Beagle, Vick's an Eagle! | The DawgHouse

      Last night was not a very good night for me. My computer decided to screw up, so now I'm left with no computer and a lot of homework that must be done on a computer. Anyways, back to last night. I've just got back in from playing baseball and I'm about to study for a test when I checked my phone and saw I had two new messages. What I read shocked me. Both said "Vick signed with Eagles". It made me happy and upset at the same time. Happy because I've been pulling for Vick to sign with a team, but upset because usually I'm the first person to hear any sports story, and I was the last to hear the biggest sports story of the year.

   So let's look at the details of this deal. Vick has signed a one year deal for $ 1.6 million with a second year option for $ 5.2 million, but don't worry Eagles fans, none of the money is guaranteed, so Phily will owe Vick nothing if he for some reason fails to make the team. This deal seemed to come together due to the fact that Eagles backup QB Kevin Kolb has injured his knee, and it could wind up being huge if Vick pans out. It still hasn't been explained what exactly Vick will do, if he will just be a backup, or play some WR, or help run a Wildcat offense. So, the question for the Philadelphia Eagles is, is this move worth it?

   There are definately some pros in making this move. The backup QB position is questionable, and it isn't safe for any team to sign Vick with the expectations that he's a starter. Plus it makes the Eagles look great. Here's a guy that's knows he's done something wrong, paid his time, and waits and sees if someone out there still believes in him. Everyone loves the people who give guys a second chance. Well, not everybody.

   Anytime there are pros, there are definately cons. The main deal with this signing is the fans. Already there have been reports of people crying, people swearing off the Eagles, and people already selling off their season tickets. A PETA representative has already said they are "very disappointed" in the signing, but this was expected.

   So, in the end, is it worth it? I say yes. You now have Vick, a former Pro Bowler, and if you think he winds up being a bust, you get rid of him and owe him NOTHING! It's a brilliant financial move, and I think it will pay off for the Eagles.

Philadelphia/ Vick.................They deserve each other. Finally we don't have to see that piece of Garbage in a Falcons jersey on this site anymore. He can now disgrace The Eagles.
