Ready for a fun and happening new game kids?

It's called Boras Ball! You mean to tell me you've never heard of this game? Well, let me tell you it's just about the most fun game a young adult can play! And lucrative too, if you've got the right tools.

All you need is major league talent and a high profile agent (preferably one named Scott) and you are half way there! Then you need to make sure teams interested in signing you are aware that you require an ungodly, practically obscene amount of money for your services.

Whether you actually deserve this precious wealth is completely irrelevent and out of the question for discussion.

Such is life as the Uber-agent/client combo of Scott Boras and his money makers players.

Numerous sources are reporting Boras and his client Stephen Strasburg turned down a record-breaking $12.5 million contract offer from the Washington Nationals.

Does anyone care to know why? What exactly is he hoping for? Nationals president Stan Kasten told The Associated Press on Saturday that there was a "very real possibility, with 48 hours to go, that Stephen may choose not to sign with us..."

Well Mr. Kasten my client requires a Gold-plated mound every time he pitches and chrome stitched baseballs. He also will need all the folowing amenities in his locker before stepping into the clubhouse...

Maybe I exaggerate but the reality is sad for this franchise. In 2008 the Nats failed to sign first-round pick (No. 9 overall) and University of Missouri pitcher Aaron Crow. They made a bid and failed in the offseason to woo Mark Teixeira to the team. Does anyone even know who the Nats opening day starter was this year? How about the last five?

This is a team and franchise desparate for a big name star. And the one thing standing between them and one of the biggest young names in baseball is an agent with a wicked sense of market value.

The clock is ticking... Less then three hours before the clock strikes 12 AM on the Nats Cinderella Ball.

Here's to hoping Kasten's got enough balls to keep Stephen throwing in a Nats uniform well beyond this midnight curfew.
