In case anyone saw the game agianst the '9ers, we saw some good things and some bad things. With them finally playing in a game situation, does this week hold any water towards next week or this season.
Lets say that Orton goes out and throws 1 or 2 more picks and no TD's, and Simms goes out and has a similar performance as his last game. Then does McDaniels stick by his "take" from the Cutler trade? Or does he give Simms the chance in the 3rd game to see if he can compete against other teams 1st teams? After a while, McDaniels will have to acknowledge that Orton is struggling and give Simms a shot. But If Orton goes out and drive the team down the field and maybe throws a TD or two then we won't have to worry about it.
Is Marshall going to shut up and play in this game, or is he going to sit on his *** and wait for a bigger check or a trade? If he decides that playing his hardest in a CONTRACT YEAR, he will be our Randy Moss (hopefully) and he will earn himself a big check. If he continues to be resistant, Denver might want to trade him to a team with some decent DL to take over for our DL (Who have a combined 2 starts between them). The third option is to deal with his crap until he decides to change his name to Brandon "Uno Cinco".
Word from Dove Valley is that Matt (I can only kick it far) Prater is not in camp, which means that he is either injured or he is gone and Britton Colquitt is going to have a shot at the job. Now I know that Denver fans have been hard on him, myself included, but I want to see what he can do this preseason.
This game is actually pretty important, a wierd feeling considering the last 14 held no value.
