Hi all,

Just a quick note to let the Domers that I am as excited as you are about the new season and what it means.  First, while we can't forget last year and the "some progress" that we made, I am ecstatic about the one about to start.

As much as I DO understand that we have an easier schedule this year, I think it is exactly what the doctor prescribed.

My first worry however, came on August 10 during coach Weis press conference.  Asked about what the season looked like, Coach Weis answered that the focus would be about winning games and for now, trying to figure out how to "run the ball against Nevada".  While I am happy about the focus, I would hope that this has been figured out already.  This is not USC - how to run against Nevada - let Armando take the ball and pound it.  The offensive line- as far as Armando Allen is concerned - looks great and he is very happy with the work that has been done off season.

Allen will lead the backs this year for the Irish

How to run the ball against Nevada?  Prep the boys and let them go hard from the first whistle.  I think that since the first Weis season, even with Brady Quinn and Darius Walker and Co, the problem was always preparation.  We didn't start hungry and very often relied on the 2nd half to "turn it on".

Start early, hit hard and often, let the "new to us" offensive line do its work and let Allen & Co run that ball.  Jimmy will take care of the rest.

Looking forward to a great season and GO IRISH!!!!

I think Notre Dame is going to be pretty good this season. They have recruited well and it's about time they show it. Plus with that schedule getting less than 9 wins would be a failure.

Unfortunately, the measuring stick has to come out when looking at this season and you are right, J.Hova: 9 wins is a minimum. The big addition this year - no pun intended with his size - is freshman linebacker Manti Te'o....another great recruit that should play right away and have impact immediately as well. Recruiting has been good, somehow, converting to good players has been a challenge. I think the planets are aligned for this year, with a softer start - unlike previous years - and a more mature team. Thanks for stopping by.

Although I have been raised a USC fan.....I am 50%irish...& I am from Hawaii.....SO, I am EXCITED to see what Manti Teo has to offer!! Plus in the end its college football that is my passion, not just USC!! Good luck to your Irish...my prediction is that they are a MUCH Stronger team this year!

thanks USC GIRL - as you know, while we hope to have a good year the truth is that the only team that is always on our path is yours....USC. Good luck this year and thanks for your feedback. I think that TE'O will be a real impact player, and hopefully, will help us turn around our good fortunes. Go Irish!
